Choose a colour scheme
Choose two or three colours that work well together. Use the 60-30-10 rule: 60% of a dominant colour, 30% of a secondary colour, and 10% of an accent colour. You can incorporate these colours through your wall treatments, furniture and accessories.
Use different patterns
To create visual interest, try mixing different types of patterns such as stripes, florals, and geometrics. Just make sure to balance the different patterns within the space and use similar colours to create a cohesive look.
Incorporate texture
To add interest and depth to your home, use different textures such as wood, metal and fabric. When mixing textures, make sure to choose materials that complement each other.
Create balance
If you have a bold statement piece, balance it out with more neutral pieces. If you have a lot of patterns in one area, balance it out with solid-coloured accessories. This will help to avoid a disjointed look and prevent the space from feeling too busy.
Use repetition
Repeat similar elements throughout. As an example. this can be achieved by selecting a statement piece of artwork or furniture and repeating either the patterns, colours and textures from that piece throughout your design.
Add personal touches
Finally, don't forget to add personal touches to your space by incorporating items that have sentimental value or reflect your personality. This will make your home feel more cohesive and unique.
